香料の安全性

化粧品には天然香料だけではなく合成香料も多く使用されています。香料業界における国際的な組織であるIFRAは、業界の利益や消費者・環境に対する安全性を維持するため、業界自主基準を制定し、香料のリスク管理をしています。

IFRA

IFRAは、多国籍企業会員と各国香料工業会で構成される国際香粧品香料協会（英語名称：International Fragrance Association）の略称です。
科学的なリスク評価を担う第三者機関であるRIFM（香粧品香料原料安全性研究所、英語名称：Research Institute for Fragrance Materials）の評価結果に基づき、業界自主基準としてIFRAスタンダードを含むCode of Practice（実施要綱）を制定しており、最新の評価、科学的知見に基づき改訂をしています。

IFRA スタンダード

IFRAスタンダードでは『Prohibition：使用禁止』、『Restriction：使用制限』、『Specification：規格設定』の規制に区分されています。
またリーブオン/リンスオフ/皮膚に触れない/紫外線に曝露される/曝露されない等使用シーンや使用方法によって、製品製品カテゴリーを12に分類し、最終製品中での最大配合量の規制も行っています。
