Expression (Cold Press)

Expression (Cold Press)

The cold press method is a straightforward technique for extracting aromatic components present in raw plant material by crushing the plant. The components obtained through pressing are typically separated into water and essential oil. This extraction method is primarily used for citrus fruits, such as yuzu and lemon, where the water portion is sometimes used as juice for beverages. In contrast to the steam distillation method, the cold press method does not involve heating. Consequently, there is less alteration in the aromatic compounds, and the characteristics of the aroma components closely resemble the natural aroma of the plant itself. On the other hand, it also comes out with impurities, making its quality unstable, so it is important to select the best maching method.
